Plant Pathology

The Plant Pathology programs at the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center focus on providing current, research-based disease recommendations to growers in western North Carolina, providing training and educational materials to stakeholders, and investigating the pathogens causing disease to aid in management.

Projects include applied and molecular disease diagnostics and epidemiology, evaluation of fungicides and cultural control methods, and integration of fungicides and host resistance into management practices.
