Dr. Randy Gardner Featured in “North Carolina Agriculture” Magazine Article
Since 1976, Dr. Randy Gardner, tomato breeder and professor emeritus for the Dept. of Horticultural Science, has worked to increase the productivity of tomato growers locally, nationally and internationally. His 32-year career at the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center did not end at retirement in 2008– he continues to develop and improve flavor, disease resistance and marketability in breeding lines and released varieties. Dr. Gardner is featured in an article in the 2019 issue of “North Carolina Agriculture” magazine.
